Setting value of java variable to hidden field

Hi

Tried doing this, but it just wasn't working. Not to be daunted, I took the easier approach, which involved setting upo a hyperlink, such as

<a href="MyAction.do?id=<bean:write name='elem' property='objectIdVariableName'/>&action=delete">Delete</a>

Now, the value of the bean property and the "action=delete" appear in the URL of the web browser. Is there any way to prevent this, or to mask the URL contents?
