...well I could be mean and call you a name but I won't. All I will say is you should be!! Because of what I had to do today, I let Time Machine restore to my new MBP and the only thing I've had to do at this point is sign in to my wireless network. Everything else is just as it was on my other MBP. Way too awesome!
I'm not using it, so go ahead and call me the name. I'd like to start though. Do you backup to "the cloud" or to an an external drive?
I have Snow Leopard server edition, and I'm going to upgrade to regular Lion when it comes out. It seems like I'll have to wipe the hard drive to do that. Will Time Machine restore my applications as well as data? That would be a stupid question on Windows, but I'm thinking on Mac it might just be possible.
I use external hard disk (Western Digital) but I really wish to get Drobo device.
Regarding your question, I guess yes it will but of course Mr. Bear is our Apple support man
I use Time Capsule as my wireless base station and wirelessly back up on its drive. I haven't needed it for anything catastrophic yet, but it's worked great for small recoveries and it's nice peace of mind.

Is it true that the average life span for Time Capsule is 19 months and 20 days?

I've been looking into iDrive because it will backup TimeMachine data, which is what I want. I don't need an offsite backup in addition to TimeMachine. I just need an offsite backup of TimeMachine itself.
