HI,

Ubuntu is os and tomcat is server

I have domain name like www.mydomain.com". I want open the index.jsp by typing my domain name in the url from browser.

I created index.jsp and added code - sendRedirect("http://www.mydomain.com/Myapp/index.jsp"), place it under root folder of tomcat.

Its working fine if I type http://www.mydomain.com:8085/ but I need to type only domain name not the port number 8085.
If I type only domain name its not working.
please suggest me , how to open default page by typing only domain name instead of typing like http://www.mydomain.com:8085/

Regards,
Prasad

Prasadk, welcome to Java Ranch!

You want to run Tomcat on port 80 (the default HTTP port). Any of these should help: linux tomcat port 80

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
