Hi,
Anybody who knows how to extend the standard runtime locale database? There are some basic errors and many more unsupported items in the deployed property files for the locales. For instance gives "English" instead "Engels". There must be a method to extend the provided data, but I can't find anywhere how to do that. Any pointers?
Thanks, Paul.

There is indeed a way to do that (in Java 6 anyway). Follow the link to LocaleServiceProvider and read all about it.

But before you rush off to write your own locale service provider, you might want to see if ICU4J has already produced what you need.
