Hi I was thinking about doing a small Shopping Cart 3-4 pages of a JSP project just to build up confidence and fluency.
I currently use eclipse EE and basically excute the main jsp page from there which launches it in Firefox.
I actually wanted to simulate a scenario in which multiple users would be using the website to test it. I am using TOM CAT as a (container)
I wanted to know what you guys suggest .. should i install multiple VMS inorder to generate different session ?? how do people usually test their website locally on very very small scale level without ever deploying it ???

I would also appreciate it if you guys could give me some opinions on what features should be included in this project.
The features I am looking for should be not - simple or hard but something that would improve my learning and overall concepts and fluency.
I dont want to include java script or other technologies. I just want to use jsp and servlet. looking forward to hearing what features you guys recommend... Thanks..

You're certainly not going to get any type of real-world testing running it in IDE. I'd set up a standalone Tomcat instance and hit it with multiple browsers and/or multiple machines.

As for features, well I think features are far less important at this stage than practices. Strive to create a well-structured application using best practices and add features once you get a good foundation.
