I have a controller class named HomeController which extends AbstractController. I am getting the message

The hierarchy of the type HomeController is inconsistent

. I faced the similar error a few days back when I was trying a controller which was extending SimpleFormController. Could someone kindly guide me what actually went wrong, what I am supposed to do. Thanks.

In my case I got this error while creating a Spring MVC Project. I missed to add related JAR files (spring-context-4.1.0.RELEASE.jar & spring-web-4.1.0.RELEASE.jar) in the build path.

Although other Spring JARs (Core, Beans, AOP & MVC) were already added but above mentioned JAR files were also required. Once I added other JARs, the error disappeared.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
