Hi all,

Through with OCE, JEE 6 JSP and Servlets Developer with 82%. Thank you all the ranchers for your help.

Special thanks to Pedro for his mock exam on the new servlet 3.0 specification. It really helped.

Congratulations! Very good score...given the lack of good focused resources to study for this exam.
Please do give your inputs about the exam.

Nazar,
There are several differences between the old and the new exams. At least from the objectives it looks like:

Topics Removed
1. No developing custom tags (Using custom tags is still on).
2. No design patterns.

Topics Added
Annotations
Asynchronous - Ajax
Web Fragments
Resource Injection - How to use JDBC/JPA - Where does JPA fit
Role of JAAS

These are all good things.

You may pass the exam with preparation for old exam but my suggestion is to make use this opportunity and replan for the new version. It will benefit you a lot later.

HTH,
Paul.

Thank you all.

Nazar, There were only a couple of questions related to tags and they were easy, not related to the intricate details of classic and simple tags. Approximately 15% of the questions are from the new objectives.

Apart from HFSJ, I have read servlet 3.0 specs and did some mock exams.

Gud luck to you

I had gone through HFSJ twice, read servlet 3.0 specs then did some mock exams. Apart from that I didn't do any thing.
I strongly suggest you to go through Head First Servlets and Jsp. It will give you a good foundation. As of now I don't think there are any new books published for the newer version of the test. So once you are done with HFSJ read the servlet 3.0 specs.

what does that mean? you can't do a sendRedirect() after writing to the response.
