Hi,

I cleard OCPJP recently. I hear from some experienced Java professionals that it is not easy to clear this exam without any professional work experience. Is it true? Does it perhaps take longer than usual for people from a non Java background?

Is it better to get some work ex before attempting this exam? I was primed to start HFSJ before I got this advice.

If you cleared OCPJP then you knew Java right... Then why are you hesitant to go for SCWCD??

can you elaborate your question

No Shuba...not required.

If you can start with Head First JSP& Servlets book, its more than enough to get an understanding and get prepared for OCPWCD

Happy reading and all the best for your exam

Hi shuba gopal,
From my personal experience, when I gave SCWCD, I never had experience in Custom Tags, Security, JSTL. Just had some basic knowledge about web technology (servlet, jsp).

But by going through books like HFWCD, and practising the examples made it easy to clear the exam with good percentage. And also the Mock exams.

Best of luck for you study and exam.

hey shuba its nothing like that,i just cleared the exam last week and i dont have any workex in java..dont be tensed, with java ranch team on your side its never too difficult to clear the exam..i studied from head first, made notes from the book, though you need to byheart some concepts, some notes are also provided on the scwcd links, you can revise from them after finishing the book, solve the mock exams, thats enough to clear the exam with a good percentage!! best of luck!!
