I see it is World Snake Day today.

A few days ago here in the town of Leiden a five feet long python came crawling out of someone's toilet.

A snake, probably a python, crawled out of a toilet in a home in Leiden on thursday morning, according to the police. When the police arrived, they saw a snake between one and one and a half meters (3 to 5 feet) on the stairs between the first and second floor of the home at the Plantsoen. Personnel of the animal ambulance took care of the animal. The snake will be brought to a shelter in Haarlem. It is unknown where the snake came from. It is possible that it escaped or has been set free outside.

And in Bangkok, someone tried to smuggle fifty snakes into an airplane.

Security personnel had noticed that there was "something alive" in the suitcase. When they opened the suitcase, they saw 26 socks with snakes in them. The 23-year-old man was arrested on the airport. He did not have a permit to export the snakes by airplane, according to the Thai authorities on Saturday.

All the snakes were probably heading towards Hollywood. Auditions are being held for the sequel of Snakes on a plane.
