That would be interesting to try.
You have my vote

I see it like this three forums for each part and one parent forum which would contain all three forums.

At the moment, the software doesn't support subforums so this isn't a split we are considering at this time.

Atleast we can "label" our posts so whenever someone starts a new topic he can mark the subject like "[part 2] queries reg. class diagram", i think this would make it lot easier to find relevant topics, we can further label to be more specific like "[part 2-diagrams]" or "[part 2-vouchers]" or "[part 2-J2EE]".

And to make this more visible, we can have a sticky topic with subject like "IMP: Label your topics"

Nice thought..can we tweak..the post submission page to include a field called 'Part xxx' and perhaps automate an append to the subject line?

My two cents - I hate this idea.

The impression I get is that the main purpose of this is so that members of this forum can avoid helping others.

I would think that any potential employer seeing this topic would question why they would want to hire someone who deliberately chooses not to provide assistance to others.

Not going to happen.

Devashish: While we aren't going to intefer with you encouraging tag use, we aren't going to sticky it either. There are already a lot of stickies up there about the exam.

Rahul: Please re-read what I wrote about not modifying the software for this request. We aren't adding forum fields for this either. Nor any other software changes one might recommend. Except for this week (because there is a promo) there aren't an unmanageable number of daily posts.

On a personal note, I learned a lot about parts 2 and 3 reading those posts when studying for part 1. And as Andrew noted, I was able to answer questions on part 1 while working on parts 2 and 3.

Ah well..worth a try..

But to set the record straight..the intent was never to 'not help' people..we login here to help people..

My intent to make the recommendation was that it might help people search the forum easier with such a part specific filter..so if i was looking for part 1..and i wanted to read everything anyone has ever said on part 1..just to gain some more insights..that would be easier...(and i did do that while i was taking my exam)

Never mind though..since the final word has been spoken..

Rahul,
I did that too. I just searched "part 1".
