Of course it is worth it. But what is worthy for me might not be that worthy for you. For someone with 2 years of Java experience, the knowledge you will gain from studying for any certification is worth the amount of money and time you would spend preparing for it.
For me, it is not how much money i am going to be making, it is about getting the opportunity which will allow you to learn, grow as a specialist and eventually reach the financial state you want to be in. Getting a certification shows brain capacity, dedication and ability.

Boris, Thank you so much for the reply.

But I decided against taking this certification. As we know, JSPs and Servlets are almost dead, I don't want to waste much time preparing for the certification instead learn some newer technologies(frameworks) like Spring and Hibernate because everyone is talking about them,using them and they are likely to stay here for some more time.

Good luck Harsha, the only problem is that Spring MVC is difficult to understand without understanding servlets and jsps.

I do know the basics of Servlets and JSPs.... is it good enough to learn Spring? Can you or someone else tell me, How to get started with Spring and Hibernate?

I'm afraid I haven't found any easy way to do this, but to try and understand the MVC bits of Spring it helps to have a good understanding of servlets and most of the examples that are around use jsps. Still I think it is well worth persevering as it is a very well put together framework.

Never a certification is waste. Servlets & Jsp will make your foundation strong if you plan to persue your career in Springs/j2ee.

Are you all trying to tell that its not that easy learning Spring without strong servlets and JSPs knowledge? isn't there any other way for a quick learner:)?

After discussing with my colleagues and other people with more industry experience than me, I've decided to learn servlets and JSPs before moving to Spring and Hibernate.
Looks as though there isn't any shortcut to "BIG" success.
