Hi All,

I am working towards my Java Enterprise Architect Certification and had questions about Part 2 Project. I'm scheduled to take Part I later this week, but am already looking forward toward Part 2 due to the impending Oct 1st deadline.

1. I did a search and saw that a number of people used BoUML. So I downloaded this and am working with it (coming up to speed, mainly). Has anyone passed the Project poriton of the exam using BoUML?

2. Are we required to use strict UML? For example, the GoF Design Patterns book itself doesn't use UML ... from what I understand it uses a combination of OMT (for static diagrams) and Objectory and Booch (for interaction diagrams). Would we lose points if our diagram is not strict UML (for example if it used elements from OMT)?

I see UML referenced in the objectives Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Assignment (Step 2 of 3) ... I just didn't know how rigid the exam graders were. If I provided a key alongside my design, would that be sufficient?

Thank you very much in advanced!

Philip

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
