I am a student of computer science and a beginner programmer. How much should I charge per hour if I work as a freelancer? I wanted to charge $5 for one minor job, but they turned me down, because I was "too expensive". Can You comment? Thanks in advance, Grega from Slovenia, Europe

I think it depends on the actual work, amount of time you had estimated and the technologies you work on. The skillset also adds value to it.

I'm not in a position to give a sensible answer to this question, I'm afraid. I don't think knowing what to charge as a freelancer qualifies as even being in 297 things a programmer should know.
