I want to learn framework in java. one of my friend said struts is outdated framework. is it ? Can anyone suggest me which framework is best to learn in java.

Very rarely is there a single "best" of anything, and certainly there's no such thing amongst Java frameworks, whatever they do. Having said that, Struts 1 is dead, and Struts 2 won't ever be as dominant. So unless you have a compelling reason to spend time learning either, I advise not to do so.

You "should" learn one you can use, because there are too many to pick a random one and hope you can make use of it. That obviously depends on what is used in the company you work for (or will be working for). Doing a bit of research (like reading job ads and analyzing web sites) to find out what gets used in the kind of companies you're interested in should be valuable.

What other Java frameworks exists outside of Struts/JSP that can be used to build websites?
