i havent written anything for a while but ,of course, used html4.01. trying to learn html5 i went to a site that made it seem cool improvements (audio, video, replace scripts and plugins to an extent). then today i see how many old tags are not supported. wont this break a lot of sites? make people rewrite?
As with tags deprecated by HTML4, browsers still honor them though they should not be used in new pages,
HTML5 isn't done yet. The browser vendors are going ahead and implementing it anyways as a lot of it is unlikely to change much at this point. Browser support is very very spotty, but even Microsoft is (for once) being somewhat on-the-ball with IE9.
yeah, i found this to answer question about release date.
HTML5 gets final release date of 2014
For the first time, W3C is able to set a timeline for finishing the hotly debated HTML5 standard. What the HTML Working Group has yet to do by that deadline
i thought it was out already
