Blog post ideas

I'm thinking of writing a blog post with a few short examples comparing how to code simple tasks in Java an Scala.

I need you guys to come up with ideas for simple examples I could write.

Why do you want to write a blog post if you don't know what to put in it? That sounds a bit like "I want to write a novel, but I can't think of a subject."

I've already told you what my subject is. I have some ideas but I think crowdsourcing will lead to better ones.

What Ulf means is that it is traditional for the author of a blog post to have enough content to write the post . And then ask for other examples as a comment to that blog post. If one doesn't have enough content to write a blog post, why create it? You could read Java/Scala comparisons instead.

What's wrong with you people? I can (and do) write whatever I like in my blog, and I research ideas however I want! If you don't have any ideas to contribute, don't post (unless it's amusing or interesting in some way... trolling doesn't count ).

Sorry, you don't get to tell us what to post, especially not in the MD forum. I think both Jeanne and I have made valid points; if you feel otherwise - well, such are the odds in a public forum.

This is the meaningless drivel forum and less than serious answers are perfectly appropriate. Ulf and I are both senior moderators around here. Calling us unhelpful isn't likely to generate sympathy. If you have a serious question about Scala, we have a Scala forum. However, I can't see anyone there coming up with content for someone else's blog entry either. I'm going to close this thread now as it is apparently about our moderation styles. You can start a new thread to talk about Scala if you like.
