Hello All,

I am a new member of this forum. I am planning to take the SCEA certification part 1 exam on 20th August. I received the Pearson View free practice tests when I registered for the exam. I have taken one of the tests. (I will able to take the practice test thrice and I am hoping to see different questions each time). I wanted to know has anyone else taken these tests before appearing for the exam? How do the questions compare to the real exam? I scored 83% in the first test. Unfortunately I could not review all the answers and the test timed out.

Anyone who can share their experience? I would like to see if I can use this test to bench mark my level of readiness for the real exam!

Thanks,
Aparna

I have taken the free practice tests. They are comparable to the level of difficulty in the actual exam. They also have the exact look and feel of the actual exam.

I am not sure if practice tests(pearson or Whizlab or whatever) are the real benchmarks in judging one's exam readiness. Practice tests help in planning one's exam(timing, strategy etc) and identifying "some" and not all of one's weaknesses. Practice exams cover a small portion of the subjects from which questions are asked. After all only 64 questions are asked per test. The questions in the exam can be from any portion of the whole JEE 5 spec - mostly high level and not minute API level questions. So in the end, it is the depth of one's knowledge and/or experience that ultimately decides how one performs in the exam. I probably am making you more nervous !

Getting 83% in the first go is definitely impressive. You should be good for the exam. All the best !

I received my practice test on the day of my exam and so went through it at a glance. The questions were definitely of similar complexity level. In fact I got couple of questions in the real exam very close to the practice questions. But the scope of OCMJEA is so vast, that 64 questions may not cover everything.

That said, it certainly helps simulating the real exam sceanario.

Thanks for the response! I understand that the scope of the exam is vast and a few practice tests cannot define how one would fare in the real test. But knowing that a practice test is a good simulation of the actual test in terms of look and feel and difficulty level helps to know where one stands and gives some level of confidence boost!

I will take the other 2 practice tests this weekend.

Thanks again!
