i want to display japanese, chinese, thai characters in my jsp files. i tried to copy paste those characters but i'm seeing boxes in the code as well as output.
any solutions? and one more thing, is there any software for converting these characters into byte codes , so that i can write byte code instead of characters.
thanks

Hi...If you are using a jsp in eclipse do the following
Right click the file in Package Explorer > Properties > Resources Tab on the left > Text File Encoding on the right > Select Other and UTF-8 in select box
now in the jsp page replace the page header to

Now you can paste Chinese, Japanese etc...Although they appear as boxes in here...they will display correctly at runtime...

Hi Raj...
I have got the thing working with the above steps....Can you tell me what is being displayed in the browser at runtime? I mean any garbled text or still the boxes???

I am now beginning to suspect your browsers support for Chinese and Japanese...Can you just go down to Google translate and see if you can translate some English text to Japanese and Chinese?
