Thanks to KB Study guide, KB OCP Practice exams books and JavaRanch. I read the KB Study guide 1.5 fully in Nov 2008. Just studying this book, I was able to get a place in a Java development project in my company. Thanks to Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates. I want to write this exam since 2008, but I didn't get time. Now I had enough time and I tried a shot and was able to clear.
During my prepartion whenever I posted my doubts here, I always got good response and my doubts were cleared. Thanks to all who cleared my doubts.
The exam duration was 150 minutes and the exam looked pretty easy.
This is what I did:
Read the KB book thrice. Practiced 100s of short programs.
Did the practice exams in KB OCP Practice exam book. I was not even able to complete 35 questions of practice exams in 3 hours.
Read the "TWO MINUTES DRILL" from all the chapters just before the exam.
Now I am planning to do a certification on web services.
Thanks and regards
we didn't mean for the practice exams to be that hard! Can you say more about why they took you so long to finish?

On separate note does K&B practice exams are that hard (35 questions in 3 hours ) , need to have personally look on those question.
Sorry I didn't mean to say that OCP practice exams are hard. It was just me who was not able to complete it. I was just stuck on those questions related to Threading and Generics, which made me not to complete all the questions in 3 hours. I was weak on those two concepts. But all the four practice exams were really really helpful.
Thanks and regards
I passed the OCPJP 1.6 exam today with 90 %. I am very happy to inform in this forum.
Congrats guy! It was a great score!!!
I got only 80% when I took my SCJP three years ago.
is Reading the book for 30 minutes a day is good, becuase i have 2 jobs
Absolutely, that is good. At some point, you would have covered the whole book and later you just need to revise.
Just that you should consistently spend the 30 minutes.
