Want to Host a Web Application from my Local Machine

i want to host a enterpise application from my Local Machine and i am not aware of the steps that i need to take.
i have downloaded GalssFish 3.0 app server. Kidnly clarify whether it is possible or not and if possible.
Then from where i need to buy the DNS service and how i can register a domain. what all changes i have to make in firewall and other related stuffs (i dont have any idea abt the procedure).
Can anyone provide a step by step procedure or pointers to some good documents abt the same.

This is a bad idea.

Enterprise apps generally need to be available continuously, which isn't true for desktop machines.

And your network admin will have fits if you approach him about opening the firewall in order to route traffic to a desktop machine.

thanks for your response. Ya i know the complications of using local machine as a server. But i want to do the same for learning purpose (anyways my app is not great as Google or FB :wink.
