Why the first log4j Logger getting overridden by another Logger with different name?

From API:

"public static Logger getLogger(String name)

Retrieve a logger named according to the value of the name parameter. If the named logger already exists, then the existing instance will be returned. Otherwise, a new instance is created."



In the above it is stated that a new instance will be returned if another name is given to create a Logger. But in my case, the first one is getting overridden.

Please help..
