window.open and its document

I asked a question for <iframe> recently. Now, if I use window.open to open a separate html page, will the opened html have a its own javascript document ? If I have same element Id in the original html and its opened html, will it be a problem ?

They are separate JavaScript documents - using the same id is fine.
