My question is if their is any program that can be written by a programmer to earn a some sort of income small or large.

For example making an app, making an algorithmic trader. But more to the point a personal program that can be written. mabey something to manage your own finances

Just want to know what idea people have big or small

I tried to write a program that determines if a given program can earn a programmer some sort of income.

It appears the issue breaks down to the halting problem.

It's easy! Just create a game such as Angry Birds or Minecraft and you'll get rich very quickly. (The Minecraft guy earned tens of millions of dollars in less than a year!)

Good luck with it!

If I understand it right, you can write iPhone apps and put them into the Apple Store to be sold. Of course whether anybody will buy them is another question. This is where the "small amount of money" part of the question comes into play, as in "Zero is a small amount".

Zero isn't an amount i believe its a concept as it is nothing?!

But yes back to my question. I am not asking about get rich quick bollocks I'm simply asking like apps is their something that developers can develop to improve personal finance. However at the same time is their another product anyone can think of apart from apps?

Some folk would apparently disagree with you that zero is nothing.

Write a program to divert fractions of pennies into a bank account that you control. Then steal someone's red stapler.

Obviously you aren't a programmer then.

But this is NOT a semi-serious forum. Do you really expect to get serious answers in a forum named "Meaningless Drivel"?

1) Get a couple million dollars
2) Put it in a savings account

It is incredibly easy to write a program that will, after running, give you a small amount of money.

Very simple (random) stock trader will do - start with a very large amount of money, and after a short while you will have a small amount of money. Criteria met!

TubeOrganizer. Search YouTube videos and save them to drawers and subdrawers. Drawers are like folders/directories.

Or make an account to sites like vWorker or getafreelancer ...you won't get rich, but surely you will earn some money by making simple small programs or other kind of work :P
