hello, can anyone tell me why this is an error in java:

and why the same code is valid in c#:

What i am doing:

instead of declaring a class(a reference type), i m declaring a structure(a value type), it is successfully working in c#, than why it's an error in java???

Only primitives (boolean, char, byte, short, int, long, float, double) are "value types". Everything else (including arrays) is an object, and therefore a "reference type".
