Here is a good article on reflection which I had used when I learnt what reflection is.

I don't know of any refraction in java

Refraction means bending light when it passes from one transparent medium into another.
Reflection means sending light back, eg from a mirror. It also means thinking about what you are thinking about. It also means a method of thinking about what a class is thinking about, and that it probably what you want. Try the Java Tutorials first.
