I have been developer in java since eight plus years, but recently got an opportunity to take up a job in C language for a six months contract assignment. I have been considered because I have the related domain expertise. Do you suggest it would be a good game to take up this opportunity. I am fearing because after 6 months, when I will put my resume in job portal, my CV would lose its sheen;

I am not much experienced like you. though want to give some point : what is your previous employment history? is it stable? if yes this wont be a problem. however as a software engineer knowing more than one language is always good

If I were you, just try it and if you find yourself doing great things then continue it and if not back to old things that you do before accept the opportunity, there's nothing wrong if you just give it a try.
