Hi Guys, I want to implement a login verification system which most probably you all are seeing now-a-days in many good sites. The scenario is first the login page will appear. It will ask the username and the password. If the credentials are correct then ok, user will login into the system. However, if the user enters wrong credentials 3 times then the login page will also ask the user to type a auto/system generated human readable code (with sound and refresh option) which a user must have to correctly type along with their username and password.

Hope you can resembled the scenario which I am trying to say here. Is there any way you can help me to write such kind of login verification from scratch in JSP Servlet or at least can you give me some nice online sites, sources or documentations?

Thanks

Note: Something similar to this Google site: https://accounts.google.com/newaccount?hl=en, beside "Word Verification" section

You can keep track of the number of the failed login attempts in a cookie.

And once that number exceeds the accepted limit, you can use some like reCAPTCHA to display the verification you need.
