I wrote a java client that connects to a remote hessian service installed in a remote Virtual linux server. when i try my application with local hessian service (localhost:8080) it works fine ;but when i tried same application replacing localhost:8080 with ip of remote linux server it gives me below error. Note that i'm running my application from eclipse IDE and don't know if connecting to remote hessian service from eclipse would be a problem due to eclipse IDE proxy settings?

any idea what is wrong?

Hi!
A guess (and a wild one it is) is that the client is trying to retrieve the file "hessian.service" on the remote server.
Have you tried to replace the "." character with an escape-character?
Best wishes!
