Hi Everyone,

I have been a developer for 15 years and in Java for close to ten. I still don't feel like I have all the lingo down, not just in java, but in the whole world of programming. I am currently studying for the SCJP exam so I don't have a lot of extra time but can anyone give any suggestions on how I could become more jargon savvy quickly?

Thanks!

Read books, Google for those terms, look them up on Wikipedia, or ask about specific terms on the forums here (though not in the Meaningless Drivel forum - unless you thing getting entertaining comments is more important than serious learning).

I thought the rules to participate in this forum were to be nice? Geez. Just thought maybe someone had a source out there that could put the pieces together ...that's all.

I'm sorry if my reply looks as if it was "not nice". It was not at all meant that way. But what exactly are you looking for? Java-specific terms? You can find a glossary of those here.

Note that you posted this in the "Meaningless Drivel" forum here. That forum is where we post non-serious questions, because we don't want to think about work all the time. If you're looking for serious answers, it's better to post in one of the other forums.

Just a quick note - the question has also been posted in the Jobs forum here. Might be best to continue over there.

Listen. That's my theme music. That's how I know I'm a super hero. That, and this tiny ad told me:
