By implementing the crosstab of jasper report (in ireport), if the value of the field equals to null then I need to retrieve the value by executing a new query. Does any know how can i do that? I would like to have something like:

<measureExpression>
<![CDATA[new Boolean($F{RESULT_VALUE}==null) ? new String("SELECT ITEM_NAME FROM ATable WHERE SPECIMEN_ID ="+ $F{SPECIMEN_ID}) : $F{RESULT_VALUE}]]>
</measureExpression>

But instead of new String the query, I would need to execute the query in order to retrieve the ITEM_NAME for display.

Please kindly let me know if you know how to do that, I am hearty appreciate for your help!!

Why is the word "abbreviation" so long? And this ad is so short?
