I don't recommend playing those sort of games. The datamodel is supposed to be a DATA model, not a kludgy way of hacking the View.
There are
JSF extension tagsets that can actually do sub-headings, RichFaces has one. It's a lot cleaner and more powerful.
The secret of how to be miserable is to constantly expect things are going to happen the way that they are "supposed" to happen.
You can have faith, which carries the understanding that you may be disappointed. Then there's being a willfully-blind idiot, which virtually guarantees it.
