Hi,

This is regarding my doubts about OCMJD result. I've already dropped a mail to developer-submit_US@oracle.com regarding the same, but thought of posting here (coderanch) as well to see if anyone has faced similar issue.

On 7th Oct, I got a mail from developer-submit_US@oracle.com stating that I've passed OCMJD and I'll receive success kit within 4-6 weeks.

However, on Oracle Certview, I see status as below:

Part 1 (assignment) : PASS
Part 2 (essay) : TAKEN

And on Pearson Vue, status is as below:

Part 1 (assignment) : TAKEN
Part 2 (essay) : TAKEN

And score report on Pearson Vue display my score in part 1 as 385 (passing score : 320).

Further, there is no record for OCMJD in 'success kit' on Oracle CertView (success kit should reflect that data if mail says that I'll get it within 4-6 weeks).

Also, mail says that numeric scores are only provided for failures, but my Pearson profile DOES show numeric score (though it does not show section wise cut-off).

I'm really confuse about should I celebrate, should I not, or should I wait.

Has anybody faced this issue? Have I passed both the parts?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Anayonkar,

I'm quite sure that now people are able to see the total score even when you pass. A lot of passing threads proof this new policy. As far as I know you can't see a detailed view of your score (score per section). That one you'll only see when you have failed (because it indicates which section you have to improve on to pass the certification).

So I would say: you can start celebrating for passing this certification!

Kind regards,
Roel

Oracle grades the assignment. So if Oracle Cert View says you have passed the assignment, then I think it is fair to assume you have passed the certification. Simply because it is not possible to fail the exam. The information for the exam would just be passed to the assessor in order to use it whilst assessing your assignment.

The fact that Oracle Cert View is saying "TAKEN" for the exam is probably just an administrative error.

Regards the status in the Pearson VUE system. I would guess that the problem is that Pearson VUE have not updated their records. Possibly because Oracle have not notified them yet or they simply have not gotten around to it.

So I would be pretty confident that you are now certified

Thanks all.

I would take an opportunity to express my regards and thanks to Roel De Nijs, Andrew Monkhouse and Roberto Perillo for their priceless help.

Roel, special credit goes to your timely replies on almost all my queries, due to which I could finish this certification in time. Thanks a lot!

Roberto, thanks a ton for your data class synchronization tests. Initially I was little skeptical with those tests (the reason being my code never failed your tests ), but later on, those tests saved me a great deal of time during further development.

Andrew, many many thanks to you for the wonderful book you have written. It answers a great deal of doubts about packaging and other details like documentation etc. Most importantly, it splits the project into different important areas. That is why when my threading and networking part was flawless, I was pretty sure that I will pass. However, frankly speaking, I did not expect such a nice score (385/400) due to my clumsy GUI (I'm still sure that those 15 marks I lost due to GUI only )

Finally, thanks a lot to all coderanch contributors. This is my third Java certification, but I'm using this forum for the first time (and I think I should've used it for other two certifications also ). This forum is simply great. There was not a single question from me which went unanswered. More importantly, I got replies in very short time and got a chance to actually discuss my doubts to great depth.

After 4 action-packed-weeks, now I guess I deserve some rest and some refreshment
