Which TYPE of Driver used by Hibernate(Type-1, Type-2, Type-3, Type-4) and Why?

I believe it depends, which driver class we are specifying and the installed JRE . Hibernate is not limited to any particular driver type.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hibernate uses whichever driver you specify; it could be any type. Everything but type 4 drivers have been out of fashion for quite a while, though.
