After purchasing my first 3G iPad, and learning that I could get internet and email for only $15 a month, I did the unthinkable. I got rid of my $100 a month smart phone. My peers in the industry said I'd never make it. But I have, and I use a TracFone, spending about $20 a month. Since I work at home and can be away from my computer when I want to grocery shop, visit the local pub, or go to the gym, it's fine for me. I've slashed my data bill by a huge amount. Now this won't work for everyone, but it works great for me. It is like cutting the land line......it works for some, and it's a great money saver.

I don't think I could ever do that. My iPhone is so much more convenient because I can do most things on it with 1 hand. I like my iPad. But it is still too clunky, for me. I'd love to be able to save money though. I wonder if there are any other tips for saving money by using an iPad.

I'm sure there are, including the new QR codes and apps that compare prices when you shop! And many other ways to use your iPad for good -

A year ago I go the "Calculator" app and an app that told me how many calories were in various foods. I started the calculator each day at 1700, and subtracted the calories I ate all day. Once I got to 0, i stopped eating. Over the course of a year I went from 171 to 143. I'm stuck here now, but that's not the point! There are lots of ways to incorporate your iPad into everyday life.
