Hey dear users, am new to this forum page and am searching for some advice regarding the base coding place, like VS, netBeans, etc. that would help me in coding via Swings and other java things, make a GUI by drag and drop if possible, and then export it as a *.exe or *.jar file that doesn't show up the message, MAIN CLASS NOT FOUND.

I am looking for this answer to make my first attempt to develop an application that I have in mind. I need your help to get the ideas for the language and the platform that I need to have rolling. Please quote in.

I also have Eclipse Installed on my lappy, but I can't get it to export a .jar file that has the Main class according to it as well.

The problem persisted for both netBeans and Eclipse... as I just created the panel with a button and a textbox there.

Welcome to the Ranch!

I suggest you don't use a GUI builder until you know how Swing works. Start by reading the Java tutorials on Oracle's own site and writing a few GUI's manually so you understand the Swing basics. After that you can still use a GUI builder.

*.jar file that doesn't show up the message, MAIN CLASS NOT FOUND.

If you get that message there are three possibilities:
1) You haven't specified the Main-Class attribute in the manifest.
2) You have a class path problem because you haven't correctly specified the Class-Path attribute in the manifest.
3) The main method throws any other exception / error.

Welcome Tanmay

Did you specify the main(String[]) method at all anywhere?

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
