I'm currently preparing for the 1Z0-895 aka JPEE6EJBDCEE aka Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 6 Enterprise JavaBeans Developer Certified Expert Exam :-)
At the time writing the JSR 318 specification is lying in front of me with page 157 opened and I am wondering if it is necessary to know about all the EJB 2.1 and EJB 1.1-only related topics (chapters 7 to 11). I googled and of course read the objectives, but could not figure out if I have to simple read the chapters mentioned (for my personal understanding) or really learn it as intense as the other EJB 3.1 related topics.
As I know some of you already mastered 1Z0-895, maybe someone can answer my question.
If you're reading a recent book, and by recent I mean a book of the newer versions of EJB you may encounter some chapters quoting the older versions of it. This is because you may probably write code with the newer versions of the technology but you'll also maintain legacy code base written in older versions of the same technology. This is always a reality when dealing with Java, keep legacy software's running healthy while writing new software's or migrating the existing ones.
I've been approved in this exam and I can assure to you that the topics related with the older versions are a minority, thus you may focus on what's new.
Ok, that's exactly what I expected. So I'm going to read the chapters for completeness so that I can come back to them if I have to maintain some legacy code or even have to migrate some components from 2.1 to 3.1 or newer.

The chapter 7 -11 of the spec are related to entity, not legacy ejb code.
The entity 2.1 and 1.1 should be move to JPA exam, not related to 1Z0-895.
I read the chapter but I don't study it for the exam.

I see you have successfully completed OCPJBCD 6.0. I have just completed OCJP 6.0 with 95% score. Now I want to take OCPJBCD. Can you please refer me the materials (books and/or web resources) you have used to prepare? Also, this OCPJBCD is a single test, right? and it's code is: 1Z0-895, right? Please confirm.
