Hi,

As training is mandatory for the exam. Please let me know when are the training details asked while registering for the exam.
When i try to register in the pearsonvue website for the exam, they don't ask any information about training.

Thanks in advance.

After you have passed parts 1, 2 and 3. Oracle will then look to see if you have taken the training.

I am sitting Part 1 in 2 weeks. I assume I don't need to have the training completed before then?

Can the training be done at any point?

Thanks
Joe

You can submit a course submission form on Pearson site, this will trigger the validation if you have taken training or not.
It is always best to take mandatory exam approval before appearing for exam, otherwise you would never know.

Oracle has been quite clear you don't need it before part 1. I think Joe is fine.

I think you can attend the mandatory training anytime. The only constraint is success kit (SCEA certificates) will not be posted until unless we attend the training course and submit the form. I appeared for all 3 parts of SCEA without any training. I got my part 1 results and waiting for Part II and III results. Will plan the training part later after getting the Part II & III results.

Hope this information is useful.

Sadanand,

Have you got your Part II & III results?

Do you get any documents suggesting the results which you can keep for future which shows you have completed the exams and passed with whatever scores?

I am thinking about just giving all exams and not take training at all.

In this way it is at par with the existing SCEA certified guys prior to oracle messing up this certification....

Any thoughts on this approach?

Cheers
N.D.

Hi Dave,

Yes, I completed all the 3 parts of SCEA except mandatory training. We do get the score card(in Pearson VUE website) for part I with % of marks and also the part II scorecard (in Pearson VUE website) with the message "Congratulations! You have achieved the highest level of Java Certification one can achieve. You are among the elite group of individuals who can call themselves a Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Cer.... etc"

Apart from this you will also receive the elite 1% mail "Congratulations! You have passed the Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect certification. You are among the elite 1% of certified Java professionals who have gone on to achieve the Java Enterprise Architect certification... etc"

I think we can use this mail and also the part II scorecard for our references. The only thing which we don't get is the success kit which include the actual certificate and the card.

Hope this information is useful for you.

Regards,
Sadanand
