Hello, I'm taking courses in XHTML, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. When I'm done with my courses, I hope to get a job as a web developer. What certifications in HTML, CSS and JavaScript would look good to a potential employer?

I considered the following certificates, but I'm thinking that these aren't what I need since the HTML certificate from W3Schools covers HTML 4.01 and my course doesn't even cover that. It covers XHTML Transitional and HTML5

1. W3World HTML Certificate $95.00
HTML Certificate

2. W3World CSS Certificate $95.00
CSS Certificate

3. W3World JavaScript Certificate $95.00
JavaScript Certificate

Depends where you are talking about. Generally I find that US companies are unimpressed by certifications.

What does impress US companies? Experience, I know, but I don't have any web-development experience. Currently, I'm taking HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I just got my Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer 6 (OCPJP 6) certificate. I have some experience as a Java Developer, but all of the Java jobs seem to be for web developers, so I'm taking web development courses. Next, I want to get my Oracle Certified Web Component Developer certificate (covers Java Servlets and JSP).

Thank you. I read part of that website and have decided NOT to get any certificates from w3schools.com. They aren't even affiliated with the w3.org!

Are there any good certificates for HTML, CSS and JavaScript? Certificates that employers would count as a "feather in my cap"?

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
