Oracle Java SE Programmer (1Z1-803) Beta and (1Z1-805)

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi,
Oracle has now posted Beta Exam 1Z1-803 Java SE7 Programmer 1.
I am considering to register for this exam before beta period expires.
Similarly Beta 1Z1-805 which I believe is the upgrade path to Java SE 7 Professional programmer.

Wondering if anybody has had an opportunity to challenge this very specific beta exam yet.
Curious to read the feedback and the study track/book used to prepare for this exam.

Thanks and appreciate your assistance,
Yaj

I'm also thinking of doing the upgrade beta exam for Java 7 (1Z1-805), any idea of how long the beta period will last?

Abhay,

You may go ahead and register for the examination at Pearson Vue.

Follow the steps mentioned on Oracle certification site:

Go to www.pearsonvue.com/oracle.
Select Schedule a Test.
Select Proctored.
Select the check box next to the exam you'd like to take.
Select language and click Next.
Locate a testing center near you by defining the search criteria.
Select a testing center near you and click Next.
Select a date and an available appointment time and click Select Appointment.
Click Next.
Review your appointment details to be sure that they are correct.
If you have a discount voucher number, you will enter it at the bottom of this page in the Voucher Number field and select Apply Voucher. Your balance will reflect the discount.
On the next screen you will need to enter payment information to cover the remaining balance. The exam fee is payable to Pearson Vue by any major credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Switch Cards) at the time of registration.
On the next screen, you will review your order and confirm. If all information is correct, select Confirm Order. You will only be allowed to confirm your order after selecting the checkbox beside "I have read and agree to the check-in and reschedule/cancellation policies." Be sure to familiarize yourself with these policies. Exceptions will not apply.
The next page will present your exam receipt. If you need an exam receipt for your records or for reimbursement, PRINT THIS PAGE. This is your exam receipt.
You will receive a confirmation email. This confirmation email can also be used as a receipt for reimbursement purposes.

You may choose your own date, time slot and the examination center. The certification examinations I guess are conducted only on weekdays and the Java 7 Upgrade beta ends on 17th December 2011, so register as soon as possible and book a slot, only 2 weeks to go.

I don't like it that Oracle wants you to appear for OCP-JA as a prerequisite OCP-JP.
What do they think, money grows on trees? That's why I will not be upgrading!

Beta exam end Date for Java 7 Upgrade(1z1-805) is now 7th Jan 2012.

http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=182&p_org_id=1001&lang=US#2

but PearsonVue website does not allow me to re-schedule a Java 7 Upgrade exam (1z1-805) beyond 17 Dec 2011.

This means the results will be delayed by another 3 weeks as compared to the previous date.

@Anniruddh Rana - I am not aware of date when results of exam will be declared. By the way, have you appeared for the exam already ? If yes then please share your exam experiences with me.

Wow thats great...

The results would be announced approximately 11 weeks after the closure of the beta exams, I haven't appeared for any of the beta exams yet.

My OCA J7 beta is scheduled for tomorrow so wish me luck

@Abhay and @Ankit:

I already did post my review ... but needless to say as I mentioned earlier I wrote the OCA java 7 examination and not the OCJP so I am not sure if this is going to help you folks or not.

You may follow the OCA review discussion at the following thread: https://coderanch.com/t/561069/java-SCJA/certification/OCA-Java-SE-Review-Not

Edit: Thanks for the luck

I took the exam (805), it was just like SCJP/OCPJP. You need to compile in your head and know the API well, so just what we expected.
