I tried to find one answer to this question from the Internet, but it seems that no one has ever felt the need to do this before. I have this Javascript variable which I am iterating over some times and generating buttons for each time. I want that when the user presses one of the buttons, the corresponding value of the iterated variable at the point of time of the button's creation should be passed to the backing bean.

In the backing bean, I have the following code:

point is a global variable which I had already declared. Please help me out with this.

Don't use scriptlets or JSTL in JSF. Especially don't use scriptlets. Unlike JSP's JSF View Definitions are not compiled into executable servlets.

Actually, the question of passing a JavaScript variable to a backing bean gets asked in this forum quite often. Use the "search" and see if you get any usable answers.
