No. The more time you spend managing, the less time you spend on your technical skills. Over times, they become more distant. Then the technology changes and your skills become out of date.
In the short term, you can work on projects at home. Or when you first become a manager, code a little. This only works in the short term though. You have to be hands on to stay hands on.
