any suggestions of good free text editor  RSS feed

i have been using windows notepad. the "problem" is when i mix spaces and tabs. when i post code here the indentation is wrong. of course i could just not use tab at all, but hitting space 16 times or more for each line is a bit too much work.

if you want a text editor from the CommandPrompt, use nano or jed.
this way you get used to typing in the closing single quote, double-quote, parenthesis, and curly brace.

You have to type "')} with all those text editors, don’t you? You want to balance your {} by writing them backwards. And note the other options which I recommended you turn on.
