Hi,

I only work with Java nowadays. Would you recommend this book for me, or is it necessary a more basic book about Rails?

Thank you

I don't know anything about the book, but the title implies to me that the reader will need a least some background in Rails.

The flat out best book to learn Rails is The Rails Way.

In all honesty, this isn't the best book for people new to Rails. As Rusty says, The Rails Way is a good place to start (though its sheer heft can be a bit intimidating). The Agile Web Development with Rails book, from the Pragmatic Programmers, is currently undergoing revisions for its third edition, and will likely also be popular (it's more a tutorial than a reference).

I think even non-Rails developers can get something from my book, but the value would be more conceptual (the benefits of REST), and hopefully inspirational (how can I make my framework more RESTful).
