Heritage? Is that like documenting who your parents were, and their parents and brothers and sisters, and so on? And drawing tree-like charts to show all the relationships? We call that "genealogy" or "ancestry" in English. There are several programs available which do that; here's a link to one of the most well-known: PERSONAL ANCESTRAL FILE. You could download it and look at it to see how those programs work. (I should mention that it's a product of the Mormon church, who you may not be a friend of, but they won't bother you if you download it.)

As for how to write such a program in Java, then you have to ask yourself whether you want your program to store its data locally, or whether you want an application which can be accessed by many people from many different computers. If it's the latter, then you would be writing a web application. In Java this would have server code written as Java servlets and JSPs, perhaps using some framework, and HTML with perhaps Javascript in the browser. But if you want a standalone program then Swing would be better. Although Java FX has just been released; I don't know much about it but it's a lot like Swing.

thank you so much for your time writing theses nive infos by the way i didnt get the saying "who you may not be a friend of" i'll assume you are kidding
but about my project
i think of some web application that i can draw in its window so i want to calculate it on webpage and show the result
i think about applets although i have experience in servlets and jsp but i dont think it does the required job

java also now has something called "web start". i know very little about it but it might be what you are looking for. it is more like a swing app that runs from browser than an applet from what i understand
