I am considering doing the
SCJD course, having recently passed the
SCJP exam.
I have been working as a programmer for the past 10 months and have learned a good deal in that time. However, my background is not in programming but in Applied Mathematics and much of what I have learned is picked up day-to-day without much more knowledge of the background to what I am doing (many terms are still very vague to me etc.).
I was wondering, is there a large increase in difficulty between the two courses, SCJP and SCJD? Is there enough information in a good book alone (eg. Monkhouse) to guide you from one to the other?
Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.
