It's been 10 years since I've done any recording of music. I'm finally starting to get back into it. So over the past few months I've been gathering equipment. I'm finally at a place where I can actually do some recording and mixing. Specs and pics below:

Instrument:
Taylor Acoustic 814C

Gear:
iMac i5 w/GarageBand
PreSonus Firestudio Project - 10x10 FireWire interface with 8 XMAX Preamps - 96kHz
Yamaha HS 50M Monitors
DT 770 Pro Headphones
Perception 220 Mic

In the photo you'll also notice some harman / kardon speakers. Those are not really used for recording but they will come in handy to listen to a final mix. I've had those for a while as everyday speakers.

Nice,
I never knew that you play acoustic guitar.

Don't do it. Its a trap.

First you buy one mic. Then you need two. Soon you know that it will be better if you had two different ones for vocals. Then another pair for keeping the guitar tones from merging with the vocals. Soon, you will have to have $1000 Neumann mics instead of the $100 Shures. Before long, 30 mics is not enough. Then you need more channels of recording. Plus a mixer. External effects boxes.

Don't do it. Stop now. Before its too late

Here is a portion of my mic collection. I'm serious, run away now that you can.

Very Cool!

And by a weird coincidence I used to have an 814c - sweet guitar.

Now I have a 1970, D-35. Equally sweet, very different.

Enjoy your 814c!
