Struts application calling core java

am working on a struts application which calls a core java application with main() function (typical) in a separate thread ......... do any of you guys know the best practice to do such task.........i tried searching on net for resources on it ........couldn't find much ......any good resource or books you guys recommend

Class loader or scheduler might be an option

Another possibility would be to use JMS messaging. Have the core java process "listen" for a JSM message sent by your Struts application.
