Hi,
I'm considering getting an external monitor for my MacBook Pro (my budget is under $ 1K). When looking for an external monitor, what is the criteria?
I may get a new Mac machine after a year, so a monitor with Thunderbolt support would be nice I think.
What is your favorite?

Right at your price point.

But if you want to forgo the Thunderbolt, any top-quality monitor should serve you well.

You want to spend a grand on one monitor? Mine are more like $200 each.

Get a Display Port to DVI convertor and one is trivial.

To use two, you have to get the $100 dual DVI convertor, still trivial.

While the big Apple monitor is beautiful, its really expensive. IMHO, if you are doing software development, you are better off with more, smaller monitors, say 23" each.

If you are a professional graphic artist, or use Photoshop professionally, then you know that the best monitor is not enough.
