reading a JSP page

Hi everybody,

This is some code on a page , please help me read it

<c:if test="${ExtraParams['sideBarExisted'] == 'true'}">
<div id="sidebar">
<c:if test="${(!empty ExtraParams['sideBar1'])
<!-- Some url here -->
</c:if>


I have to add more content to sideBar
where do i start looking where we are specifying value of sideBar1

i need to modify question... Where do i look for ExtraParam :D

its not defined on this page and there is only one include ( jspf ) which i search has nothing called extraparam

How are we supposed to know? You're the one that has the code. Look in the code for the page controller. If it's not there, it may have been added to the session or app context somewhere along the line. Have you done a project-wide search for that text?

hmm 1600 results... well i'll see where it is getting set "before" my page is called.

From the code you have posted, I'd guess that it's a Map that collecting entries to be used on the page (instead of using scoped variables) -- not an approach I'd recommend.

I suspect you need to fetch a reference to this Map and add an entry that turns into the sidebar.

But all that is just a guess.

Nothing in Websphere Commerce environment is straightforward.
i wont be surprised if it turns up in database!( just sayin)

I did a project wide search 'sidebar' .. found it in struts-config

getting warmer ..
