Hi All ,

I have a requirement where i need to watch changes in a directory(addition , deletion of files) over FTP . Can anyone throw some light how this can be done .

I did have a look at Watch Service API , but it seems like it can be implemented on a local directory .

Any help is much appreciated . Thanks in advance .

I fear the only way to do this is to poll the server regularly. That's how older file watch services worked that could not use the notification mechanisms of the underlying file system.
